Introduction

UNICEF promotes the rights and well-being of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.

Aim

1. We advocate for the protection of children's rights, help meet their basic needs and expand their opportunities to reach their full potential;
2. We mobilize political will and material resources to help countries ensure a 'first call for children' and build their capacity to do so;
3. We respond in emergencies to relieve the suffering of children and those who provide their care;
4. We promote the equal rights of women and girls, and support their full participation in the development of their communities;
5. We work towards the human development goals, and the peace and social progress enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

Service Brief:
- Providing Children & Youth Services

Service Scope:
UNICEF is the only UN organisation dedicated exclusively to children, working closely with other UN agencies, governments and NGOs to provide community-based services in primary health care, nutrition, basic education, and safe water and sanitation to the developing world.
Every moment of every day, UNICEF is on the ground providing lifesaving help for children in need. For over 60 years, UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other organisation in the world.
